The 3rd Annual Vertical Cities is specifically designed to meet all building industry practitioners' demands in today’s world of cutting-new edge ‘urban architecture’ to secure and guarantee their investments by addressing the main concerns in designing of sustainable high density built environments where the problems of urban sprawl, traffic congestion and pollution have threatened the prospects of biodiversity, greenery, livability and general wellbeing of the inhabitants.

This conference will highlight through practical case studies and panel on its importance of Vertical Cities in the collaboration of typical high-rise forms which includes retail malls and multi-use towers that stack and mix commercial, retail, and residential functions in upcoming or existing buildings. It will offer participants insight on adopting green initiatives and energy efficiency to remain competitive and at the same time sustainable state-of the- art techniques that can be drawn upon from the vast experience of our global speaker line-up.

Day 1 & 2

Stream I: Masterplanning and Typology

This stream will cover the need for efficient designs in vertical structures, placemaking and masterplanning of the city on a whole. This stream will also be looking at the typologies used for mixed used high rise structures, how to optimise space used in a building as well as on how to incorporate a sense of functionality while consolidating old and new blueprints.

Stream II: Structural Engineering and Construction

This stream will look at engineering and design aspect of vertical structures such as against disasters, wind and fire. Issues on performance bases design and pilling and foundation techniques when building super tall will be address as well.

Stream III: Commercialisation and Investment

This stream will look at assessing the commercial considerations in the design and operation of mixed-use, market drivers – leasing specification from estate agents, Investment and financing and Justifying investment in vertical mixed use developments to gain commercial value and create cities that support economic growth.
